Baked pecan and honey brie, tasty treat for you and me!
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
1/4 pecans, toasted and chopped
2 tbsps. honey
1/2 of a 17.3 oz. pkge of frozen puff pastry – defrosted but chilled
1 8 oz. package of Brie round cheese, sliced in half
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Beat egg and water in a small bowl and set aside.
Mix pecans and honey in a small bowl.
Roll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to approx. a 12″ square. Place 1 piece of cheese in center and top with pecan mixture.
Top with the other half of the cheese.
Brush edges of the pastry with the egg mixture and then fold pastry up and over the cheese to form a “beggar’s purse”
Tie with kitchen twine. Place on a foil line sheet and then brush with the egg wash.
Bake for 20 minutes or until pastry is golden. Let stand for 30 minutes.
Serve with apple slices, bread, crackers or whatever accompaniment you can think of!
